Evacuation Orders

LEAVE EARLY! If an order to evacuate has been issued, do not hesitate! Once the outer edges of a storm approach Beaufort County, weather may become very unpredictable.

Be aware that some areas may flood well before the storm's arrival. Your escape route may be further complicated by the fact that high density population areas may require evacuation orders to be issued earlier than one day ahead of the storm's arrival and bridges may become clogged.

If Beaufort County Emergency Management Department advises evacuation of our area, DO SO IMMEDIATELY. Keep your car radio on to listen for further instructions, such as the location of emergency shelters.

Tornadoes are often spawned by hurricanes. Should you receive a tornado warning, seek shelter immediately in an interior bathroom or small hall as low to the ground as possible.

Re-Entry Information

Depending on the severity of the storm and damage incurred, it may be several days before it is safe to return. When you do return, plan to be self-sustaining with at least a ten-day supply of food and water.

Fire stations are established as command centers. The closest fire station to Bay Pointe Vistas is located between Frogmore and Lands End along Lands End Road.
